It’s officially hiking and camping season, and that means long days on the trail and nights spent lounging around a fire. Aside from the joy that comes from soaking up nature, spending time in the great outdoors also means something else: insects. The warm season brings about mosquitoes and spiders – the tag team that leaves us with itchy bites all over our bodies. They’re sneaky and can get to you before you even know they’re there. To help keep those pesky critters at bay, here’s a simple spray on bug repellent recipe so you can make this summer bug bite free.
Little known fact: the main component in our spray, Neem oil, has been known throughout history as an insect repellent. Due to the constituent, Azadirachtin, an extract from the Neem tree, it is often used as a commercial insect growth regulator that controls the metamorphosis process as the insect passes from the larva stage to the pupa stage. So those tiny mosquitoes and spiders will stay tiny!
Citronella, Lemongrass, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, Patchouli, and Tea Tree, all have insecticidal and repellent properties, making this the best all-natural bug repellent on the market! Plus, if you add in some Peppermint oil, it’s analgesic & anti-inflammatory properties can also help ease insect bites and stings, too!
